Alleging that the voice of Hindutva is being suppressed, VHP on Tuesday threatened to launch a movement if the stringent National Security Act (NSA) invoked against BJP leader Varun Gandhi, is not immediately withdrawn.
"We strongly demand the withdrawal of NSA against Varun Gandhi or we will launch a big movement across the country," VHP President Ashok Singhal told reporters here.
He alleged that Varun Gandhi and other people, who are raising the pitch of Hindutva are being arrested and their voice is being suppressed.
"In a democratic system, everybody is free to express opinion. Let the society make a judgement and not the State," he said.
In this regard, he alleged that several Hindu leaders and saints have been put behind bars when they tried to raise Hindutva concerns.
"Cases have been filed against Sadhvi Pragya, Sadhvi Prachya, Swami Hansdas and others and they are subjected to narco tests in order to humiliate Hinduism," he said.
"It is strange that all those who favour Hindutva forces are being arrested and all those who suppress them are being rewarded in the country," he said.
"The Government also questioned the existence of Lord Ram that too in a country like India where he was born," Singhal said, referring to the issue of Ram sethu.
On Ayodhya issue, Singhal said VHP wants the Parliament to enact a law for the construction of a grand temple at the disputed site.
He said all saints and sadhus have now come on a single platform to raise issues of Hindutva in the country and formed a "Dharm Raksha Manch" with active support of leading Hindu organisations like All India Akhara Parishad in this regard.
"This is for the first time that such a manch has been established in India," he said.
Claiming that nearly three crore intruders from Bangladesh have made India their home, Singhal said all these intruders should be identified and sent back to their country.
Demanding closure of all hydel projects on the Bhagirathi river, the VHP leader asked for 3000 cusec of water to be released from there.
